Kitty was my helper. She chose three gorgeous Autumn colors from my plentiful stack of wool felt. If you want to buy some for yourself, you can find a great selection from one of my Magic Sponsors, A Child’s Dream Come True.
First, we made the little cloak. Kitty took a piece of white paper and cut it into just the right sized rectangle to measure all around the peg dolls body. Then, she held her ‘template’ on the piece of felt and cut around the edges. She then used the hot glue gun to stick the cloak onto her doll. Of course, for a neater doll, you can sew the cloak together and then stick it onto the peg doll… but, Kitty was in a mood to play and wanted her doll faster than sewing would allow… hot glue worked just fine.
Now for the little gnome hat. We cut out a triangle, making sure it was just the right length to fit over the peg dolls head when glued together.
We put a dab of glue onto the inside of the hat and stuck it onto the gnomes head.
Isn’t he a cutie!
Kitty then chose three of the smallest little acorn caps she could find in my stash and glued colorful felt balls into them to make tiny felted acorns.
And then we stuck the acorns onto our Autumn Gnomes.
Three little mischief makers they are!
Both Kitty and Teddy are enthralled! They love these gorgeous little gnomes made with their very own hands.
If you want to learn how to make these felted acorns, at last I’ve succumbed to popular demand and offer Felted Acorn Kits in my shop, Fairyfolk… click here to see the lovely colors you can choose from.
